Art Description

Photography: Black & White, photograph, Piezography, carbon pigment inks and Baryta Hahnemühle 315g on Paper.

Wandering around the city of Amsterdam in 2015. Getting lost in the streets that surrounded the canals, I fell on this dusty, french Citroën DS SUPER 5. Its odd tone of blue paint, dulled by the years, was covered with pollen and seeds, and the famous Dutch city’s buildings were reflected on its hood.

When I took the image I knew exactly how I wanted the final image to be. Many hours were spent removing the seeds and pollens, and balancing the monochrome print.

The images are printed by a company in Paris, who specialize in gallery printing, I have chosen a fine art paper medium ‘Baryta Hahnemühle 315g (on Piezo Pro Charbon)’ and a process involving Piezography Pro Cone carbon pigment inks. There are only 5 prints in the series, all possess ARTrust certificates, which enable the client to verify the work using a third party, They are signed and numbered. For the record there exists 3 proof prints which are not for sale.
