The series "Light Being I-III" (2024) consists of sequences of single frames extracted from digital videos. What could have easily been overlooked -the appearance and disappearance of the Light Being- is caught on film and then spread out in space, frame by frame. While the dissection of its swift movements leaves the Light Being suspended in time, it remains elusive: present, yet at the same time disappearing, here, but also gone. The ambivalent effect of this dance between time and space, the interplay of photography and film, preserves the Light Being´s autonomy and thereby its mystery. It is not an object caught on film, but a main character gracing us with its appearance. Light Being II is a multi-panel artwork that consists of 6 prints, see pictures. A/V Digital Artist. "All answers are hidden in plain sight." Lotis is a Berlin-based artist who grew up in various countries. She studied literature and media studies with a focus on film, electronic media, and perception. After graduating, she turned to practical work, gaining experience in the film industry and receiving support for her first screenplay from the Cultural Film Fund of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (GER). At the same time, she began to produce digital music. In her art, Lotis combines different media to make what is imperceptible to the five senses visible. Her works include soundscaped 3D animations, digital stills, music, and guided meditations. She feels deeply connected to the mesh-like structures of the internet in which she sees a spiritual dimension. This connection is reflected in her main areas of activity: social media, online communities, and the decentralized world of cryptocurrencies. Despite her passion for technology, nature remains her greatest source of inspiration. In her work, she creates immersive, multisensory experiences that encourage viewers and listeners to expand their perception and engage in self-reflection. For Lotis, art is a means to broaden awareness and foster a deeper connection between digital and natural realms.
