This artwork belongs to my "Light, Space and Moment" series of architecture photography. This topic accompanies me for a very long time. And still today it is very interesting to me. Every moment is unique. It is defined by a specific surrounding space, the time of day and the respective lighting. A photograph can only reflect a very restricted section of this unique moment. In an abstract way it will stay open in significance and meaning. Thus it can touch all people´s minds in the world. I always prefer to use low-cost and every day equipment for photography, such as ordinary mobile phone cameras. The photographic process to me is democratic and documentary. The motive itself is irretrievable and unique. It should by chance reflect one single view in a billion possible views from other people at the same time. The photographs were taken on the occasion of a university excursion through California in March and April 1992. We visited up-to-date buildings as well as traditional and modern californian architecture. The artwork is as a high quality digital print on photo paper. It originates from an original analogue diapositive photography. It was digitally reproduced in 2019. The reproduction contained dust between the framed diapositives. As this condition documents the timespan and age of the original photos, today these "mistakes" are now an original part of the whole image. The artwork is numbered, hand signed and dated by me on the back. This photograph was taken on April 3rd, 1992 at 16:00 local time at the Condominium by the Design Group in California / USA.
