About The Artwork

This image was captured during a visit to Sydney in November 2016. Each exposure was 120 seconds at f13, ISO 64 using a Nikon D810 and 35mm Nikkor lens. After trekking all the way across the Harbour Bridge to McMahons Point I was a little frustrated when I started to hear thunder in the distance and I hoped I was going to be able to finish shooting some of the panoramas before it started to rain. This one image took over 20 minutes to capture and consisted of 120-second exposure, 120-second long-exposure noise reduction, move the camera slightly and repeat 6 times.

I entered this image in the 2017 Epson International Pano Awards and was delighted to win a bronze award. The back of each limited edition print will be signed and numbered 1(-25) of 25. I will also include a handwritten note detailing the background to the capture of this image and will sign and date it and include with the framed image.

I hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed capturing it, for me, this is what photography is all about.

Best wishes, Ray Carey (Fotoaray)

I was born near a small country village in the Irish Midlands (County Westmeath), growing up with my younger brother and sister, I always enjoying the outdoors. Whether cycling to the hurling pitch, discovering old ruins, helping on the farm or learning to drive at 4! - I developed a love of travel, landscapes and nature. Later in life, I discovered 35mm film cameras and started to experiment with Wabi-sabi and capturing landscapes that most people miss. I look for the natural and often overlooked beauty in every-day scenery when composing photograph. I moved to Australia in 2010 and continue to travel with the company of my wife and two dogs.
