About The Artwork

This piece is inspired by the reading of the book "Women who run with wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. This reading inspired me to create some pieces inspired by the earth, the roots, the concept of seed women, growing in the earth and ready to bloom. Cyanotype on Incisioni paper of 220 grs by Cartiera Magnani intervened with acrylics and textile. 14 x 19.5 inches The Cyanotype technique is one of my main medium, it allows me to create an image with a diversity of effects and emotions that are reflected in the substrate, images loaded with depth. The use of textile materials allows me to explore other textures and uses for the image and its support.

I am a visual artist from Mexico. I work with Cyanotype (old photographic technique) applied to pieces of author and personal work. Currently all my artistic production is developed from the Cyanotype, old photographic process that is a photosensitive emulsion. This technique has led me to various alternative materials to experience the possibilities of image production in textiles, wood, glass or paper. I have always been very interested in the experimentation of manual techniques and in visualizing them as the vehicle to be able to make your own voice tangible, as well as to create from several techniques to achieve multidisciplinary pieces, working together. I use textile elements, natural dyes, botanical prints to create two-dimensional pieces but sometimes I also need to move to the three-dimensional and create pieces of art object with wooden boxes or recycled books that become receptacles of artistic pieces.
