About The Artwork

LUNARUM The word Moon comes from the Latin, originally was the feminine of an adjective, luminous or the one that illuminates, derives from the root to shine or to be luminous, from this same root comes lux (light), lumen (light), from moon comes the term Monday, which in Latin means Day of the moon (dies lunae). 1. The satellite of the earth that has always captivated man and marked his calendar, his art and mythology; the gravitational influence of the moon produces the tides and the increase of the duration of the day. The moon when observed through a telescope magnifies its luminous characteristics, and the record by means of photography, etymologically speaking is redundant, the luminous is written with light. (Photograph of the moon) The Newtonian reflector telescope allows to reflect as much light as possible, apparently the photographic capture is more viable, but the process includes a capture without the use of apertura. The reading of the moon goes beyond a simple record, since the procedure that develops speculates on its own photographic record, the observation of the Luminous, is therefore undefined in its mechanical background. "Originally" to speculate "meant to observe the sky and the relative movements of the stars with the help of a mirror." From Latin: speculatio 2. The photographic process is taking a more organic form in terms of its same result, the same structure of the lunar surface in the fourth crescent phase allows more precise textures and its relation with the space becomes more plastic, which later becomes evident in the impressions Finally the speculation in the photograph of the star closest to the earth, becomes more distant, becomes confused by the very properties of the air, of the surrounding space and is finally what I want to visualize in this work, the closeness is far, but it is through the telescope that becomes apparently tangible. Printed on Cotton paper. Prints are hand signed, numbered, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
