About The Artwork

Digital capture with the body of the camera coupled to a Newtonian telescope. Then the file is manipulated in cell phone and photoshop. Printed on 100% cotton paper. LUNARUM: The phase of the moon is increasing. The word Moon comes from the Latin, originally was the feminine of an adjective, luminous or the one that illuminates, derives from the root to shine or to be luminous, from this same root comes lux (light), lumen (light), from moon comes the term Monday, which in Latin means Day of the moon (dies lunae). 1. The satellite of the earth that has always captivated man and marked his calendar, his art and mythology; the gravitational influence of the moon produces the tides and the increase of the duration of the day. The moon when observed through a telescope magnifies its luminous characteristics, and the record by means of photography, etymologically speaking is redundant, the luminous is written with light. (Photograph of the moon) The Newtonian reflector telescope allows to reflect as much light as possible, apparently the photographic capture is more viable, but the process includes a capture without the use of aperture. Printed on Cotton paper. Prints are hand signed, numbered, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
