Lyrical Light - Limited Edition 5 of 100 Photograph

Digital photograph minimally edited for contrast and combined with its color-desaturated version. A little light can brighten the darkest of places and open us to the vision of G-d. Torah learning, compared to water by Great Torah Sages, can shape even a person as hard and stubborn as a rock. This image is part of a collection of photographs taken during a hiking trip at an Arizona canyon, capturing the effects of light on the striated, wavy rock formation of the canyon and the colors the sunlight forms on the rock. The rock, while in itself is hard and still, was shaped by wind and flowing water into dynamic forms that look like water themselves. I tried to capture the abstract and seemingly surreal, yet natural, moments of the canyon, finding new shapes and ideas the rock has to offer. What inspired me about this image is the high contrast of the sunlight shining through the opening of the ground into the dark canyon and flowing back and forth like a melody on the rock. I played on that flow by adding the reverse black and white image, intensifying the playfulness of the waves, light, and bringing out the color of the rock. The photograph will be printed on quality archival photo paper with a white border for the purpose of matting and framing. The photo is not matted and not framed. The size of the printed image is the size indicate in the label of the art work. The photograph will be shipped rolled securely inside a shipping tube. My recommendation is to mat and frame the art work with a thin frame. Suggested colors for matting and framing are black, white or gray. *Photograph will be signed on the white border under the image with my personal artist signature, dated, and the number of the limited edition. *estimated production time is 5 working days.
