Born: Worcestershire 1990 Studied: University of Wolverhampton Photography has a way of creating beautiful imagery that explores the unseen layers I hide beneath; it is a form of expression that I can only convey through imagery not words. I hope my work can inspire people to explore their own hidden emotions and represent them in a beautiful and creative way. My art practice explores the worlds of fashion and campaign, often combining both practices to create beautiful and striking imagery about our culture and the effects of the way in which we live. I have produced imagery exploring harmful cosmetics, water pollution, bullying and the ways in which photography can be over manipulated in striving for perfection. I take inspiration from all sources; I read many photography magazines including Image, British Journal of Photography, Black and White Photography and Portfolio. For my fashion work I read publications such as; Dazed and Confused, i.D, Vogue and Pop as well as fictional books. I particularly like the way in which James Patterson uses words in such a descriptive way that you can picture every scene within the story. I also listen to the news and take an interest in current issues, both worldwide and locally. My main influences in photography are underwater photographers Zena Holloway and Charlotte Spetalen as well as the artist Oleg Dou. All three approach their art in different ways demonstrating the breadth of creativity and imagination surrounding photography. As my own practice progresses I hope to explore both the worlds of fashion and studio imagery and the way these can be used in underwater photography. I find these art forms particularly interesting and I am inspired to create imaginative and moving imagery. As a photographer I am interested in many forms of production, I enjoy working digitally and with film. Film gives me the pleasure of developing the entire process, from the image taking, to developing and printing the photographs. Whereas digital imagery gives detailed and vibrant photographs that can be produced much more quickly. Photography is a passion and I enjoy every second of the production and process of image making.
