I took the portrait of this old woman in Monastiraki, Athens downtown, just a walk from the central Athens Syntagma square where the Parliament resides. She was looking into a garbage can for food. I gave her something to eat, and I could see (you can..) the pain in her eyes, but she somehow still had a hint of a smile on her face. They say that we can measure the advancement of a society's civilization by how one treats the elderly. If that is the case, maybe the Eurozone should be abolished.
