Museum Visitor 1 - Digital Collage Abstract People - Limited Edition of 100 Photograph

While visiting the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, I was intrigued by the idea of people viewing art. Looking for something different, I shot the image out of focus. I loved this effect. Later, working digitally, I explored some ideas with this figurative shape. As I worked I thought about who we are as human beings. I felt we are complicated—transparent and opaque at the same time, and deeply mysterious. I created biomorphic shapes on top of the original figure. I loved the looseness and the freedom it gave me to further explore the figure. The shapes dominating the work of Robert Motherwell and Henri Matisse provide inspiration for me. I identify with them as painters but feel more at home by transforming my photography using elements of digital collage. Each print is an original, and I use professional printers to create my photographic prints on archival Premium Luster paper, using archival pigment inkjet inks. This paper has a classic E-Type print surface that mimics the sheen and texture of traditional silver halide prints and most importantly offers superior longevity.
