About The Artwork

My aim is to uncover such forms and solutions of expression within traditional painting that express more exactly the connection and the eternal dilemma of subjective and objective elements. a few years I have been working on how to integrate one of the most perfect geometric shapes into my paintings, the cube. I have been experimenting with how the gesture could be sustained in For the three dimensions of cubes, the strict boundaries of which decelerate its momentum.

Erzsébet was born in Miskolc and now lives in Eger. She graduated from the Faculty of Art at the University of Eger where her teachers were János Seres and János Blaskó. In 1990 she then graduated from the Hungarian College of Fine Arts where she was a pupil os Árpád Szabados. Since 1985 she has been teaching at the Department of Visual Arts of Eszterházy Károly University where she is an associate professor and deputy head of department. Her paintings are meditations on emotions expressed through powerfull strokes and colours. Grounded in real spectacle and individual life experiences, they are drafted in an almost-abstract world expressing a very powerful psychological meaning full of expressive power. This sensibility is built on the dynamism of a pulsating form system, rustic painting surfaces. cold blue and red hot colours layerd upon one another and reflective light and shade that pull the viewer down into the depth of work.
