About The Artwork

Jean Paul Baret was born in 1952 in Grenoble. He lives and works in Viriville/France. After studying at the School of Decorative Arts in Geneva, he performs a dozen group exhibitions and sets up his interior architecture firm. In parallel, he continues his work of creations in the continuity of movements such as those initiated by Constructivism, Neoplasticism, Suprematism, De Stijl etc .... Since 2010, he works mainly on "photographic images" These are made from photos of "ephemeral sculptures" in different texture papers and then reworked on computer. It is a research work on the construction of simple elements (white sculptures) that can be modified by color, grain or smooth, the addition of geometric figures, dimensions, sharpness or the fl or ..... remained "raw and minimalist » Fine art print cast on Canson Rag Photographique 310 paper using archival pigment inks - personally supervised by artist.

Jean Paul Baret est né en 1952 à Grenoble. Il vit et travaille à Viriville/France Après des études à l’Ecole des Arts Décoratifs de Genève en architecture intérieure, il effectue une dizaine d’expositions collectives et monte son cabinet d’architecture intérieure. En parallèle il continue son travail de créations dans la continuité de mouvements tels que ceux initiés par le Constructivisme, le Néoplasticisme, le Bauhaus, De Stijl etc.... Suivent une dizaine d’années pendant lesquels il poursuit ses deux activités parallèles. Depuis 2010, il travaille principalement sur des « images photographiques » Celles-ci sont réalisées à partir de photos de «sculptures éphémères» en papiers de texture différente et retravaillées ensuite sur ordinateur. Il s’agit d’un travail de recherche sur le construit à partir d’éléments simples (sculptures blanches) pouvant être soit modifiés par la couleur, le grain ou le lisse, l’addition de figures géométriques, les dimensions, la netteté ou le flou..... soit demeurés « brutes et minimalistes ».
