'The unexpected nature of Dartmoor is what makes it so captivating' From Meldon Hill in Chagford, the fantastic backdrop looking across to NE Dartmoor inspired me to explore this view more and to my surprise, I found myself in one of my 'moments', - suddenly witnessing a very young foal exploring independently and experimenting on new legs the navigation skills needed for crossing over Dartmoors classic granite rocks. The fragility of a new life and the promise it holds really struck a chord with me, given the wild nature of Dartmoor with all of its extremities in weather and landscape changes. It's all about survival and adaption. This little appaloosa-cross foal, an unusual breed on Dartmoor, is just adorable making this image special and unique.

'Nature never fails to paint a multitude of varying natural fabrics' - a colourful array across our landscapes throughout the year.' This is what inspired me to become a self-taught professional photographer and artist - nature's own art. My work aims to represent this, so that these beautiful aesthetics can be shared and enjoyed either in your home as photographic prints or as original works of art. Despite always having a natural creative flair and an interest in nature and art, for many years I applied this creativity to business combining family life with being a business partner and owner. After a career spanning some 26 years, I re-connected back to my love of nature and the arts. For a number of years, I thoroughly enjoyed working for myself as a professional gardener doing garden maintenance helping people to manage their gardens. I then went on to become HND qualified in Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire whilst continuing to work with my gardening clients, focussing on soft landscape design. Following a life changing time in my life, I decided to then create a new way of expressing my creativity professionally through Photography and Art. Photography has always been a part of my life since I was 17yrs old, when I started visually recording time-lapses of Dartmoor's seasonal landscape changes and photographing curated still life objects out in nature. Now as a full-time professional photographer and artist I feel completely 'at home', concentrating on my real passions - nature and art. I love nothing more than to be out in nature, exploring and discovering something new each time - honouring natures beauty and celebrating natures abundance. Photography I am an intuitive photographer, so my approach to photography is simple - 'straight out of the camera, just as you would see it'. This ensures that what you visually experience from my work, is never a fabrication of something that nature itself would never be able to produce in terms of colouration and textural quality. This makes my work completely authentic complimented by only the best post-production archival materials for a completely natural aesthetic. Art My art started in the classroom many years ago as a 'dreamer & doodler'....professionally it is now only natural that my creative process is imaginative and intuitive.
