Nagare, Kugenuma beach - Limited Edition of 5 Photograph

This is an image I shot a few hundred meters from where I live, in the Kugenuma area not so far from Tokyo. I took it on a very cloudy day, which I think helps giving a dramatic yet calm vibe to the composition. It always amazes me how the most mundane places can turn into strong and alien landscapes. This is a very crowded beach, full of surfers, but it looks like an alien planet here. That's one of the reasons why I love long exposures so much, they way you can bend reality with these techniques always leaves me speechless. In Japanese "Nagare" means "flow", and it's precisely what I was trying to portrait, not a place, but the way time changes it. The original is printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed at the bottom.
