BIOGRAPHY Author, creator and designer, Darem BOUCHENTOUF was born in Rome in 1973, the son of a Moroccan diplomat and a Jordanian-Palestinian mother artist and decorator graduated from Florence. Surrounded by many cultures during his first 20 years between Rome, Florence, Tunis, Amman and Jeddah. Enriched by several artistic and cultural experiences, he moved to Morocco at the beginning of the millennium. Married and father of Maya and Julia. He has been the founding director of the 3wdev agency (communication, technology and design) since January 2000, while continuing to develop his interest in plastic and digital arts (painting, sculpture, photography, illustration and digital design). He signs exclusively for the agency 3wdev graphic designs, charts, posters, concepts and designs. In photography, he starts with black & white, reducing the photo to its most basic expression, and playing with light. He also experiments with new digital technologies, especially high-dynamic-range imaging (HDR), with which he develops a unique photographic identity. This technique coupled with his warm palette of colors, inherited from a past in painting, will become his photographic signature that distinguishes his work among others. Darem Bouchentouf photographs are often printed on canvas and framed with the same techniques used in painting. Which gives his work an impression of seeing paintings more than photographs. "What I like the most is the emotion of the visitors in front of my work and seeing their doubts about it, if it is a photograph or a painting" Darem Bouchentouf For few years now, the artist has been focusing on Moroccan heritage by dedicating several exhibitions on two specific themes, the ancient doors of Medinas houses in Morocco and the traditional Moroccan equestrian arts "Tborida". At the same time keeping an eye on all the other ancestral traditions and heritage objects that he documents in his daily life. The artist has exhibited in several galleries in Morocco, Jordan and Europe. Always with the concern to shed the light on the heritage and the duty of its safeguarding. In 2018, the artist exhibited for more than six months his Rimbalzi collection, a cross-look and a story of rebounds between raw lights on different reflecting planes creating a depth and texture to a flat image. In this momentum, and following the success of this exhibition.
