About The Artwork

Mixed media 3D original artwork, created by Rouzbeh Tahmassian. This artwork contains pieces that stick out of the epoxy resin toplayer, which makes the artwork come to life! A real´feel-that' artwork! The base of his work is photography. The photograph is extensively manipulated with many mixed media techniques. "I use sturdy wooden panels which are handcrafted by myself. The materials I use in my artwork are endless, such as acrylics, oil, pastel, encaustics, watercolours, sanguis, beeswax, gold(24K), copper, Damar resin and epoxy resin. I feel there is no limit in materials and techniques I can use. I'm intensely drawn to the unknown: an unknown effect, an unknown material and an unknown twist of work. It's what keeps me motivated to fabricate new work". Each work is unique and handcrafted the whole way. Photographs which are used in the mixed media artworks are limited to a maximum of 5. All work is signed and numbered on the back of the panel by the artist and ready to hang. All artwork are very carefully packed in cardboard boxes with layers of bubble wrap to protect them to ensure the artwork will reach you safely. World Wide shipping takes around 10 days to arrive, depending on it's destination. © 2017 PhotoStudio RT - All Rights Reserved – This is an original work of art created by the artist himself and may not be reproduced without written consent of the artist. "My work is created in the midst of emotions. I follow my feelings on how the process is going and what materials the artwork needs. Among all this the science and precision in me stir up all the time. In my profession as a hospital pharmacist it requires to be precise and accurate. The recent years I've fused my work as a pharmacist and a visual artist more and more. I use chemical compounds and make my own perfect orchistrated combination of Damar resin and beeswax for example. To influence the viscosity of my paint and wax I use chemicals like sorbitol and glycerol and integrate burnt pages out of pharmaceutical books into my artworks. I'm intensely drawn to the unknown: an unknown effect, an unknown material and an unknown twist of work. It's what keeps me motivated to fabricate new work in this epic battle between the flow of feelings and the science of Pharmacy" Rouzbeh Tahmassian is an established multi-disciplinary artist with international exposure. His pieces combine photographs manipulated with various mixed-media techniques of beautiful pieces of wood. Each work is unique and can involve a range of materials including acrylics, oils, pastel, watercolours, beeswax, sanguis, copper, wood and more. His pieces are personal and expressive with a hint of nostalgia.
