Notions of Love Photograph - Limited Edition of 1

I was inspired by how love today had so many different notions, all seeming to be the wrong sort. Love is suppose to be calming and reassuring but it has been twisted into a dark light these days. I wanted people to realize what love really is by reflecting on how they see it now and hopefully realizing, "Wait, this isn't how it is suppose to be!" Description of Art: Love takes time to build. It is a step by step process that cannot be hurried into being. Through every action and word, love is defined by humans as one of the most powerful emotions, moving individuals and societies into action. Doing what they never thought they were capable of.  Today, love has somehow become distorted by societal settings and expectations. We expect and ask too much AFFECTION. We want DESIRE with no strings attached. We use DECEPTION to get what we want from loving someone. We end up BETRAYING ourselves for the sake of being accepted by those we believe we love so much that we lose ourselves in the process. We want UNREQUITED love but aren’t will it let acceptance go hand in hand with it. We need to REDEFINE what we expect in love, learning how to love fully and wholeheartedly in the modern age.
