About The Artwork

In my “discocosmos” series, the depicted orb shapes demonstrate a play between natural occurring phenomena, which have long been sources of worship, with artificial, made-made ornaments. They remind us of the awe induced by cosmological bodies or the glamorous lifestyle associated with the disco ball. The imagery depicted in the prints begin physically as sculptures and sets that I build. I photograph these objects and scenes, and digitally process the files to be outputted as lenticular prints with 3D and image flip effects. The lenticular prints dazzle the viewer with their high contrast and disorienting effect, while they begin to also bring these imagined objects and scenes to life with their 3D and animation qualities.
