About The Artwork
These abandoned huts were used for the fishing nets to hang, dry, be mended etc. They are in Lagos Portugal and have been adopted by graffitti artists, den makers, juveniles and collectors of drift tat. They form a sort of outsider town or hang out or outsider museum. Their bleak beauty and spectacularly textured decay together with the fading tags make them evocative, timeless, other world spaces. Shot with a Sony RX100 - 22 megapixel compact camera in the best light for ages in March 2015.

My paintings are imagined rather than observed. They are expressive and colourful. It's all about the painting process, applying colour, using texture, making marks. the texture on the surface. The paintings develop over time. They may appear finished at one point but then later are reworked. The work you like may have been several other versions during its lifetime. My enduring influences are many but include mostly Turner, Rembrandt and Rothko. All my paintings are painted around the edges and therefore may not need framing.
