www.stevekeeferphotography.com In 1988, I started out pursuing a career in visual art and communications. After 2 years of schooling, I accepted an intern-ship with the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a photographer/videographer and graphic designer. Within two months, I was offered a full-time job with the House. I accepted the position, but never returned to art school. In 1996, at the age of 26, I partnered with nationally-known media consultant Diane Cromer to form a marketing and public relations firm, Keefer/Cromer Communications. By 1998, our firm had grown to serve clients in over 13 states and Europe. As managing partner and creative director on a variety of video, design and marketing projects for clients ranging from local engineering firms to national corporations such as Tempur-Pedic, I designed, created and produced hundreds of pieces of marketing materials including logos, posters, billboards, print advertisements, web sites, radio and television commercials. My work has appeared in publications such as The New York Times and The New Yorker Magazine. In 2002, my partner and I both chose to pursue other ventures and opportunities. I returned to the PA House of Representatives as a creative consultant and special projects manager. In 2007, I left the House as part of a “restructuring”. At that point I decided to refocus on my artwork. In 2008, I started Steve Keefer Art Photography. I now specialize in a variety of photographic venues including portraits, wedding and photographic art.
