The picture shows a man diving into the sea, and it is usually considered to be symbolic, a representation of the moment of death, when the soul dives from life into the sea of eternity. The inspiration was done by the the tomb of the diver at Paestum, a wonderful Greek wall painting of the fifth century. Still, this day I could feel all the exicitement of the people waiting for each dive and the one of the people about to dive, it was like a ritual by the sea. I used to shoot a lot of underwater pictures but this day I concentrated more on the diving side, so fascinating! The picture is c-type printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper with a semi-matt finish. The paper is coated with a slightly stippled finish and gives a very natural photographic finish. Unlimited numbered edition. Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
