About The Artwork
The definition of dust is a group of minute incoherent particles, just like us. It’s often connected to the time, it is common to say ‘the dust of the ages’ and it is dust which flows in the hourglass. In the Milky Way, that constitutes our Galaxy, dust (star dust) is all-pervasive. The photos with confetti presenting as distant nebulae on the face, construct imaginative constellations that - mixing with the facial lineaments - grant an ephemeral anonymity. They give you a reflection on what you should take seriously and why. Contextualizing them in our time, the photos become a metaphor of our double and contradictory desire to appear and hide, at once. To exhibit us - without harm - as the bright wake of a comet or the intermittence of a star. The pictures reveal our fragility in the mystery of the universe and point to pixels, the digital and technological swarm that surrounds our lives and projects us into a future that cannot be imagined yet. The artwork is of two images, 60x40 cm each, on two separated aluminium panels, printed on matt fine art paper and mounted on an aluminum plate with spacers from the wall.

I am a fine art photographer, through my photographic series I combine my fantasy world with the reality of the world I observe, taking inspiration from the fascination for philosophical and literary thought. My research is characterized by the creation of images with rarefied atmospheres, which refer to a parallel dimension, investigating the themes of identity, fantasy, dream and memory. maintaining an open dialogue with something that is beyond the visible, an off-screen, which is the real focal point of my photographs. Themes of identity, dreams and memory are explored in my photography without leaving out the timeliness of our time. Some of my works have become part of the permanent collections such as the Macn, museum of contemporary and twentieth century art, Monsummano Terme, Italia, and foundations such as Fondo Malerba for photography. I exhibited in several exhibitions both in Italy and abroad and won awards as the Celeste Prize 2009, exhhibition prize ARTELAGUNA, the prize ITS eight talent support for Pitti Immagine, I had a special jury mention at the Talent prize of 2008 and received the silver GONFALONE of the Tuscany Region, as well as being a finalist in several other awards. I use mainly natural light and film based photography, although more recently i also operate with artificial lighting and digital post-production.
