Borne in the Netherlands, I have always had a fascination for Japanese culture. Shintoïsm, one of the world's oldest religion, is my prior inspiration. the deep spiritual respect for nature in all its trees and plants, water and rivers, are subject of my paintings. In my childhood I loved drawing and painting and won a couple of prizes. My mother died when I was nine. This stopped nearly all my creativity. I studied medical biology at the university and became head of communications. Thanks to my triplets I started painting again.
