Nowadays just a guy with a camera and a computer trying to create work that makes me and my clients happy and makes me feel good. But the back story is!! Starting with small 110 and 410 cameras as a boy then the gift of a Yashica 35mm at age twelve. I have been fascinated with photography and the photographic c process. After studying in traditional arts in High school and College and working as a photojournalist and commercial photographer for more than 14 years I am more in love with my craft than ever before. I am fascinated with the possibilities that lay before me in the digital age and just what can be created to truly share my vision. My current visions are leading down the path to a created image some create in-camera using traditional photographic methods others created in the digital darkroom. As a Virginia based Artist living in the Shenandoah Valley, I am lucky to live and create in one of the most beautiful areas of the east coast. Most of my work is focused in the Virginia and Mid-Atlantic region. My primary medium is photography and digital art. I enjoy most genres of this medium and I find myself finding more and more joy in the digital darkroom creating composites and unique pieces that I dream up. My wife and I are the owners of The Blackburn Gallery in Waynesboro Virginia where I display my work both 2D and 3D. I have artwork hanging in commercial venues such as The University of Virginia Hospital, UVA Physicians Group Offices, Augusta Health, Lumos Networks Global Headquarters, Dupont Community Credit Union, Rockingham Memorial Hospital, First Bank and Trust.
