Masih Mostajeran

Masih Mostajeran

United Arab Emirates

Masih Mostajeran is an Iranian-born artist based in the UAE, with a background in architecture and a deep passion for photography. He founded the architectural photography studio “Deed” twelve years ago. His works, which explore the complexities of the human-environment relationship, have been featured in curator talks and conferences such as ‘Hacking Urban Furniture’ in Berlin and ‘Re-directing East’ at Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw. He had his first solo show at Raf Projects and has participated in group exhibitions such as “Membrane” and “Flanerie” at KAAF Institute in Tehran, “Enqelab Street” at ZKU in Berlin, “Rhythm of Silence” at CLB in Berlin, and “Tasvir Archive” at Northlight Gallery in the USA. Masih’s work delves into the intricate relationship between humans and their environments, addressing themes like war, memory, and human experience within urban landscapes. Projects such as “Encounter” and “Us” challenge the boundaries of individual and collective histories, especially in the context of war and its lasting impacts. His art is known for its ability to provoke thought and establish emotional connections with space and memory. Additionally, the prominent role of humans in his architectural photographs is evident. Currently, he is focused on his artistic and photographic projects in the UAE.
