To say that a lot of love went into this print is an understatement. This 8x8" Spherescape of "Rialto Bridge, Venice" is made from successive layers of different Alternative Photographic Processes. First the image is split into 4 color channels; 1 for black, 1 for cyan, 1 for magenta, and 1 for yellow. A negative the same size as the print (8x8") is created from each channel. I make a print for the black channel using salts of the precious metals Platinum and Palladium. After development, clearing, washing, and drying I move onto the color layers. Using a process from the 19th century called Gum Bichromate Printing, I mix artist grade watercolors with light sensitized gum arabic. Working layer by layer, I slowly build up a full color image. The nature of this kind of process ensures that each one I make is truly unique, and cannot be duplicated. This is available in a 18X18" Frame for $300.00. Unframed for $250.00 The Image size is 8x8" on 100% Cotton Rag Paper The Paper size is approx 11x11" with hand made deckled edges Custom sizes are available please contact me if you are interested in a larger piece. The image is signed in pencil, and comes with a 12x12 acid free foam board, the use of which is optional.
