Route 66, Broken Church - Limited Edition of 50 Photograph

This body of work was created over the course of several road trips across America, including a 2013 tour of Route 66, the "Mother Road." Shot primarily on a Leica M9 with a 35mm lens, these photos draw from the documentary tradition of Robert Frank and Edward Weston, but with my own modern and personal touch. Very little gives me more pleasure than to pull over in some small town on a back road and wander about with a camera. When we slow down and begin really looking at the world around us, only then is its true texture is revealed. I am finding that with time, these images are growing in relevance and power as the country continues to change. Printed by the artist with archival pigment ink on acid free 13" x 19" 300gsm cotton rag. Signed and numbered en recto.
