S'excrit! 281117bis - 1/1 - Limited Edition of 1 Photograph

From the serie "S'excrit!". The project is a series of nine photographs. Each one is named by the date of the shot. The works lasted for about three months. I have chosen a discontinued basalt's quarry near my home. The main shot is "Mineral matter XV" from the series "What's the matter?". It was a grueling works cause there was many miles between my car and my work place. And each time I was carried big plastic buckets with many kind of liquid clays. Once I was in front of my rock wall, I was doing a painter's work with different local clay. Then I waited for the good light and began to shot (one hour of intensive shooting). This project works about the ageing process, through a creative dialogue between me, the rock and the weather. I paint on the basalt with clay, the basalt take it and answer by changing the appearance of clay, then during one week it's raining - I come back again with clay. Freeze, wind, sun, clay, basalt and me was established a creative dialogue: who is the creator of what? "Excriture" is a concept by French philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy, trying to inseminate the work of Difference into the writing as a general concept. Due to the meaning of this project, each photograph of the series will be printed in one print and one artist' print. The large scale photographs are maked with a special technique that I have created. The aim is to obtain a wonderful resolution and no out of focus. This allows you to be very close to the photography to explore all the details. The photography will be printed through Fine Art Premium Inkjet print on an Hahnemühle paper.
