Samia Farah is a French Tunisian singer/song-writer, producer and Visual artist who grew up in France. She studied digital media and design at the University of The Arts London: Her work navigates between the real and the surreal. Her work attempts to reveal the collision of different worlds behind the illusion of our perceived reality, through her illustrations and digital collages. Her work aims to raise questions that seek to take us beyond the limits of our ideas of what makes one whole identity. She also uses herself as a subject adding masks or costumes that she creates using mixed media. Her digital collages add a surrealistic flavor to her art, In 1999, Samia released her debut album for Sony France where she sings, plays Melodica , co-composed and Produced the album with Giovanny Delahunda. At this stage in her career, she was very fond of jazz and wanted to work with jazz musicians. Andre Ceccarelli and Laurent de Wilde are featured on this first highly acclaimed recording. Adrian Sherwood, the legendary UK engineer and producer lent his talents mixing some tracks for the album. Samia’s second album "The Many Moods Of..." was released in 2009, which she coproduced, and designed the cover . During her world travels, she has produced ,filmed and edited a short documentary, “Typical Girls,” about equality and perception of women in the music industry and a short documentary about Mutabaruka, the Jamaican Dub poet. She was Invited in Palestine and mexico for artists in residency to work with Kids and share her art works. She is writing a little booklet of poetry .
