About The Artwork

Abstract nature photography, fine art print (satin finish, 240g/m²). Dispatch: unframed, rolled in a tube. Strictly limited edition, numbered and signed by the artist. The artworks of this special collection seem to be partially performed like classic paintings. In fact it’s photographic art with high level of crafted quality and artistic expression. With different associative fragments of landscape and textures the artist shows the charming flight of cranes. Cranes belong to the most beautiful and graceful members of the animal world. In religion and mythology they are said to have special forces: After studying the flight of cranes the god of Celts, Ogma, creates the legendary secret code “Ogham”. In Japan and China the crane is considered to be lucky charm and symbol of fertility and a long life. In the bible the crane was mentioned by the prophet Jeremia in his verses “Time of Return”. Since then many people all over the world see the crane as a messenger of change for the better. The American Indians associate with the “power animal” crane at first watchfulness, wisdom, balance and harmony. In Scandinavia and the Old Greekland the crane is seen as a messenger of the gods who brings springtime and light. A special defence tactic of the combative sports “Kung Fu”, oriented to the qualities of “the white crane”, is considered as the noblest of the combative sports. Crane birds are at home almost all over the world. In winter months some kinds of them prefer to fly into warmer fiefs. Then you can see in the sky the migration of cranes which hold a great fascination for everybody ever since we can remember – one of the favourite subjects in the works by Tom Kors.
