About The Artwork

I was inspired to photograph St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York because I love architecture and cathedrals like St. John the Divine offer some of the most unique, beautiful and spiritual environments in the world. I hope my images in turn inspire viewers to visit and spend some quiet time in such scared spaces. I mainly chose a wide angle lens for these captures in hopes of expressing the grandeur this impressive cathedral. This photo was taken at the entrance to one of the many fascinating chapels surrounding the main area of the church.

What I love about photography is that it enables me to paint with light. Cityscapes and landscapes, particularly using low light and long exposure techniques, are my special focus. My work has been included in the Saatchi ARTPARIS exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris and I have shown in venues in Pennsylvania and New York City. The latter shows include "The Haunted Gallery" (Chashama Gallery), "Points of View"(1199SEIU Gallery), "Imagine" (The Cell Gallery), the historic Salmagundi Art Club's Photography and Graphics exhibition, and Long Island Photo Gallery's "Street Life" exhibition. Additionally, my photo "Urban Nature NY" is featured as cover art on the book, "Still the Same Hawk: Reflections on Nature and New York" (Fordham Press). I have twice won the first place prize in the Canon "Imagine" magazine "Take Your Best Shot" contest. Most recently, my photo story, "The Only Way is Up," is featured in Nikon's "N-Photo" Magazine.
