About The Artwork
"Screw" from "HUMIFORMS" series. Medium edition of 15, 60x60 cm. Printed on Hahnemuhle paper with white borders, signed on back. In the project, named Humiforms, Veronica Ershova, the make-up artist, and I turned to our favourite subject of visual transformations to create unusual portraits, from the layering of familiar objects. In Humiforms, we explore the personality and its inner world, revealing through the images diverse qualities and conditions of humanity.

Alexander Khokhlov was born in Calcutta, India, on May 9, 1982. He is now based in Moscow and works as a commercial photographer with his wife, designer and retouching expert Veronica Ershova. The art-photography that he creates is always based on people transformation. In Alexander’s works the human identity takes a back seat, and the models are used as canvases for well-known shapes to trick your eyes. Each project is a huge team work, a great game with words, imagination and illusions. Of course, it is also a game with the audience.
