Victor Jorge, 23 of February 1971 Victor Jorge (Lisbon, 1971) completed his studies in film, moving image and sound while attending the advanced course in fine arts at Ar.Co, tutored by Manuel Castro Caldas. He also studied Art History and drawing at Ar.Co. Theatre at Gulbenkian/Orient Foundation and "the method studio" in London and dance at Rui Horta studio. Subsequently completed a year of authoral "PROJECT" (Post.Grad) also with Manuel Castro Caldas as his tutor. Meanwhile attended the post-graduate complementary course in philosophy at Universidade Nova, Lisbon and he completed the course of initiation to preservation and restauration of film by Cinemateca Portuguesa/ANIM museum of moving images. Has developed a wide range of projects exploring video, sound, video-performance, installation, fotografy film and writing his works have been exhibited in Portugal, Italy, Frande and USA . Victor is also a professor of practices of film and video and avant-garde film and video theories in Ar.Co (Education Gulbenkian Prize 2007 ) and to SÚBITA association of practices of creation and composition. In 2005, his experimental film "hum..joe" was officially selected to the opening day for the Independent Film and Video Festival of Los Angeles and then to the New York Film and Video Festival with the theatre play for video based on Samuel Beckett’s theatre play for tv, "Eh Joe" In 2009 his film “T2”, a co-authoring film exercise, won 4 awards. Best film, best script, best character, best editing at "The 48 Hour Film Project." His "Erased Super 8 Pornographic Film 1978, USA - and hand-painted" was selected in 2012 by the New University in partnership with the Gulbenkian, CCB and the Portuguese Cinematheque for the Klossowski Competition, having been one of the distinguished authors. He is represented at Ar.Co`s Private Collection, EDP ART FOUNDATION/MAAT and FUSO Private Collection with the films "Erased Pornographic Super8 Film 1978, USA - and hand-painted ", "LANDSCAPE" and " AU CLAIR DE LA LUNE" In 2013 he won the Open Call FUSO / EDP ART FOUNDATION/MAAT with the film "LANDSCAPE". In 2016 he was invited to exhibit in ARCO Madrid in Lisbon, 104 Paris, France and by FUNDAÇÂO EDP ART/MAAT to "Second Nature" exhibition until 16th October 2016.
