About The Artwork
I remember a day, before the war. I was alone at home when suddenly the electricity went out in my apartment, and a sense of melancholy washed over me. I began to create self-portraits using only the light from the window. At that time, they symbolized a dialogue with myself, a moment when no one could interfere. Because I was alone. Now, as I find myself far away from home, having had to flee from the war, my thoughts return to my dwelling. I long to revive those feelings within myself when I could feel absolutely safe and be at peace for the life and health of my family. I've decided to continue this series, without light, being far from home. In a way, it connects me to my tranquil life. Limited Edition of 5 Printed on high-quality fine art Hahnemuhle paper, signed certificate of authenticity included. All prints contain several centimeters of white space on each side. When sending, the picture is carefully packed. All prints are signed signed and numbered by the artist.

Kateryna Kutsevol is a Kyiv author and photographer. Her works are presented in Ukrainian galleries, and also regularly participate in group Ukrainian and international exhibitions. She has two solo exhibitions. Kateryna chose medium photography as the most frank & honest way of knowing her inner world and a way of observing the outside world and recording its changes. In her works she reflects on the thirst for love, loneliness, openness to herself, emotional connection with the objects around her in everyday life. Her desire is to provoke the viewer into a dialogue with themself, with them memory, experiences and emotions, in some cases even to try to escape from reality. The composition of her photographs strives for minimalism with laconic details, symbolic accents and original color combinations, sometimes leaning towards surrealism. Kateryna is inspired by such authors as Kenne Gregoire, Richard Avedon, Kristin Vestgard, Sara Moon, Alex Prager, Alex Russell, Max Ernst. Her photographs have appeared in at the Duncan Miller Gallery, online Gallery Street photography.
