About The Artwork

Joyce and I were working to shooting the backstage of a documentary about wine in a beautiful land in Italy and we enjoyed our break time in our own way. "When the leaves break" serie documents the intimacy and the artistic connection between us. I love taking photos with film because I actually feel to make them. I love the process because it’s more real and the result it is textured and more tridimensional. The light draws reality and with my camera I feel lucky to capture moments of ordinary life and the wait to develop the rolls I think its magic. 2020 | Photo taken with a Yashica FX - 103 film Portra 400 during a stay in Corno di Rosazzo, a little town in Friuli Venezia Giulia close to the edge with Slovenia.

Beatrice Santangelo is a photographer born under the spring sun of Sicily, Italy in 1990. She is always in love with Art and Fashion since she was a child. She lived in different cities around Italy where she could absorb the aesthetic secrets of an incredible millenary culture. Then she started to travel around the world but her most important stop was in Asia where she fell in love with Yoga. Beatrice through Yoga discovered a deep connection with creativity, spirituality and Mother Earth. She started out as a participant in yoga classes and retreats but soon she naturally felt the need to document holistic retreats, ceremonies and events. For Beatrice her body is her temple and she believes it is a precious and powerful communication tool able of awakening the soul. Her vision about the body is above what surrounds our skin. Photography helps Beatrice in a path of awareness, through self-portraits she explores herself and her spirit using her body as a canvas.
