ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This image is entitled ‘Spring Fire #02’. Produced in Hampshire, Southern England, this artwork looks skywards through the blazing colour of a beech tree's awe inspiring spring canopy. Spring has returned; with the long winter rest now in the past, the bursting to life of new fresh leaves, and a tree's identity is once again complete. As with other examples of my imagery, this fabulous display of nature speaks for itself, needing little or no additional inspiration to justify the production of this photograph. I marvel at this incredible seasonal display; thoughts come and go all too easily when gazing up into the gently swaying leaves. What do you feel when you look at this image and those of the collection in which this features? ‘Spring Fire #02’ was captured using a full-frame Canon DSLR camera. This image is sold unframed, the size of the actual printed image of this artwork is 42.8 x 28.5”. This print comes with a 2” white border on which the artists signature features on the lower right hand corner. Printed on exhibition quality Premium Matte photographic paper, signed and numbered by the artist, this artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity. Your print will be shipped rolled securely inside a shipping tube.

Photography; it's THE most fantastic medium, I adore it, and I hope this is evident in my work. Born near Winchester in the UK, I've been a resident of London for most of the past three decades. Since June 1983 - when I spent my entire first salary on my first SLR camera - photography has been an intrinsic part of both my life and of who I am. Photography it isn't just about taking great imagery, importantly, it has made me intimately aware of the world around us. As an art-form, photography creates an enormous opportunity to tell a story. Not only can I explore the present, but through montage techniques, as is evident through my exhibition 'Recovering The Past', it enables me to link the past with the present. As an artist, this gives me the opportunity to explore almost anything imaginable. Photography never ceases to excite me, I very much hope that my work does so to you too.
