ABOUT MY ARTWORK

The series "Habotai, the artwork of silk" has its origin in a 115 square meter acrylic artwork which I created for a building in Hokkaido.
It is a collage of photographs I was fortunate to take in several, the most beautiful National Parks in Hokkaido. I got the chance to visit them over a period of three years in all four seasons. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter became one part of the concept for the whole 23 m long original artwork.
Often I was asked to show the unseen details of this acrylic artwork, that is now part of the wall, hanging high up in an atrium, and:
here are the details, touchable and in a manageable size.
I have chosen the material silk because it has all the qualities I love, like
translucency, color with beautiful clearness, it is soft, strong and airy at the same time.
In our four year testing period, we saw almost none desaturation of color with our material.
This silk is natural, high-quality material, you can clean it even by hand washing it without any damage, if needed.

PUBLICATION

The original acrylic artwork is published in the book "Hokkaido Colours“
http://www.expandbooks.de/01_hokkaido.php

UNIQUENESS

To create the Habotai-series I found wonderful natural silk. Translucent, combined with the unique hanging, it becomes something special.
A fine aluminum round pipe on top makes the hanging almost invisible and an aluminum rod in a lug at the bottom part guarantees a straight hanging.
The distance to the wall frames the artwork by the shadow moving with the light situation in the room, a slight projection of the silk-image at the wall gives a soft, beautiful three-dimensional feeling.
Hanging hardware is included on demand (no extra charge).

In the luxurious case, you want to wear it as a scarf,
hand-washing is possible if needed.
Ironing level 1, no chemical cleaning.

This series has 5 different images
and two different sizes.

Small-size:	161 H x 32 W x 0.1 cm
