About The Artwork

This delightful scene is springtime just outside Somerton in Somerset. The contrasting greenery along with the vibrant yellow and super mixed blue sky, provide an amazing spring spectacle to treasure. Just over the hill in the distance is the historic town of Somerton which many hundreds of years ago, used to be the county town of Somerset. I absolutely love the depth of this artwork which provides an unforgettable sense of scale and magnitude, to what is a truly beautiful springtime scene. I stayed to absorb this colourful sight for quite some time, before the temptation for lunch became too much and I had to move on over the hill... I hope you like it too. PLEASE NOTE: This genuine Limited Edition Artwork is 1 of only 3 in total. This means no more than 3 will ever be produced for sale. This Limited Edition number is guaranteed by the Artist and confirmed within a signed and registered Certificate of Authenticity. This artwork also comes complete with a real wood 20mm white gloss frame, and is delivered ready to hang. The inspiration for my art comes from my inner desire to capture the colour and beauty of a specific scene which if missed at that time, could be gone forever. I use a process whereby the original photograph is carefully modified using digital manipulation to create unique and stunning oil painting style art. Although this particular method can be lengthy, my love for creating this style of art makes the whole process an enjoyable pleasure. I always print to canvas using archive grade inks and specialist matt varnish. I find canvas (aside from being extremely tough) provides the best texture and depth whilst the specialist pigment inks and varnish deliver wonderful bold, vibrant colours. Materials used: High grade canvas; Epson archive pigment inks; Specialist acrylic varnish. Size of Art: 24” x 16” (60.96mm x 40.64mm). This artwork comes complete with a real wood 20mm white gloss frame, and is delivered ready to hang. The stretched canvas artwork is inserted into a traditional type picture frame. This option provides the best of both in that you have the beauty and longevity of art on canvas, inserted into a traditional style wooden frame. If you would like something other than this white gloss frame, alternative frame options are available at no extra cost (this also includes Gallery Wrapped). I can also offer this artwork unframed. This is where the artwork is sent in roll form, which allows the customer to frame it themselves. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries regarding my artwork. Thank you for visiting Saatchi Art.

Born and raised in Amesbury Wiltshire (which many will know is home to the famous Stonehenge), I currently live in Ilchester Somerset with my lovely wife Rebecca, my handsome son Jack and Rocky the dog. Prior moving to Somerset, I spent 12 years living in Wrexham North Wales. For those of you who love the great outdoors, Wales is one of those places in the UK you have to visit. Since I first picked up a camera at the age of eight, I have always had a passion for photography. My inspiration comes from my inner desire to capture the colour and beauty of a specific scene which if missed at that time, could be gone forever. The advent of digital was a godsend to photographers like myself, in that the expensive film processing costs simply vanished overnight. We are now able to take an infinite number of photos in an effort to capture that perfect shot. Plus of course, digitalization has also allowed photographers to become super creative with their work. Now retired from full-time employment, I am able to spend a lot more time doing what I love best.... My particular art is all about texture and colour. I use a process whereby the original photograph is digitally modified to create a unique and stunning style of Photo Art. Although this process creates a completely new and unique image, the content and composition of the original photograph remains ‘exactly the same’. This is an aspect of my work which I feel very strongly about. If you start changing the content of the original photograph, the reason why you took the photo in the first place and that ‘magic of the moment’, will be lost. My artwork is applied to canvas using archive grade pigment inks and specialist matt varnish. I find canvas (aside from being extremely tough) provides the best texture and depth whilst the specialist inks and varnish deliver excellent light fastness and the all-important resistance to UV light. The actual image size of my artwork is 24” x 16” (60.96mm x 40.64mm). The UK is a truly beautiful place to live and I feel privileged to be able to express this in my artwork. It would be an absolute pleasure to be able to make my art available for the world to enjoy through Saatchi Art.
