Sun Birds 1974 Shot in the early morning at Venice Pier in Venice, California, I saw two birds that were flying near a lamppost on the pier, directly into the sun. The air was hazy so the direct effect of the sun to the lens did not affect the photo with any reflection off the glass. It was a lucky shot as soon after they both flew away. Limited edition of 15, signed and numbered. Image size: 18 W x 12 Print size: 16 x 20 Printed on Ilford Gold Fiber Silk paper 310 gram, 100 % cotton rag.

I grew up with photography as my father worked as a reporter/photographer in the late 1940s to the early 1950s, before he became involved in the aerospace industry. Through him I became fascinated with the magic of photography. I began to take photo classes in college and later attended Art Center College of Design, graduating in 1976. I had a small studio on Sunset Blvd through the late 1980s then did a trip to Thailand and decided to move there in 1990. Over the years I have worked for Habitat for Humanity, World Vision, and done assignments for The United Nations, Newsweek, Gamma Liaison, Getty Images. Animal Planet, Homeless International and other organizations in Asia.
