I am always looking at the world and fascinated how our mind will simplify and categorize what we see. Through photography, I like to capture moments, people or objects in a way we can appreciate what we don't see when viewing these scenes casually. In this scene, we were swimming in a friend's pool and I was struck by all the reflections of the water around a swimmer. I print this photo on 100 acid free watercolor paper. Prints are 45 x 30 which includes about a 1" white boarder.

Jeff Chase has been an artist representative for over twenty years as gallery owner and art dealer. Born in 1958 in New Hampshire, he began his artistic endeavors at the University of Connecticut where he studied photography. Chase’s talent and passion for art has been passed on by previous generations, as his mother and grandmother were both painters. Since his first Brownie Camera at the age of 6, he has been enthralled with photography. He set up a darkroom at the age of 12 and continued his photographic journey. Currently, he is working on a series of photographs titled "Moments Unseen" which are photomontages blending mostly industrial landscapes with figures and animals. Through these photos Jeff is exploring a world that is either imagined or something that is missed by the casual viewer. Jeff is also a painter, he paints what he sees around him, however, all of his paintings are done from memories and emotion derived from his experiences. “ I want my paintings to be interpretive and express something felt and not seen. I am not satisfied with simply replicating a landscape, figure, or still life. I must bring a new perspective that can be passed on to the viewer.” Although Jeff's paintings and photographs seem to be at opposite ends of the artistic spectrum, both challenge the viewer to bring their own emotions and interpretations to the scene.
