"Teresa", 1966 - Limited Edition 3 of 5 Photograph

“Teresa” "Don't we all look back in longing”, wrote Carolyn Hart, “those of us who had happy childhoods? “Because the greatest loss we ever know is not the loss of family or place or money, it is the loss of innocence.” I found Teresa at a sensitive time in her life. She was no longer a child but not yet a woman. She was a young girl about to pass from the safety of unaffected innocence into the uncertainty of expectant awareness. I remember that long ago evening, watching Teresa moving about the room, so casual, spontaneous and graceful knowing all along that change, the sole Universal absolute, would soon arouse unfamiliar sensations within her and without. I raised my camera firing just once. It has been decades since I last saw Teresa and now her image, captured in that single unguarded moment, remains Timeless to me. Signed and numbered including duly notarized Certificate of Authenticity. The Edition also contains two(2) Artist Proofs. - Print 1/5 was exhibited in Providence, RI USA in 1979 and sold to a collector at that time. - Print 2/5 was shown privately in Carmel CA USA in 1995 and sold to a collector at that time. - Artist Proof 1/2, 8x10 unmounted was printed in 1967 and remains in my personal archive. - Artist Proof 2/2, 8x10 mounted on 8ply 11x14 museum board was printed in 1967 and gifted to Teresa in 1972.
