Photographers and clouds often have a complicated relationship. From a positive standpoint, clouds sometimes can produce wonderful combinations of light and shadow. On the other hand, they can change position at the last moment, and ruin the planned lighting of a shot. And, on occasion, they will work with you, to produce a scene that you would have not been able to conjure up in your mind's eye, much less the camera's lens, as seen here in the Hudson Valley opposite Bear Mountain, New York.
