This photo was taken spontaneously during a summer vacation in Mali Lošinj in Croatia. These are the steps of Villa Katerina, and the villa is currently not open to the public. I graduated from the School of Architecture, and my love for architecture from that period remained. That’s why I love photographing architecture. All the buildings of this world have a soul as human beings, and one cannot do without the other. I started my photographic career shooting on film, and that’s how I managed to find my style. The film gives me a dreamy aesthetic like in this photo that makes it unique. The picture is captured on a 35mm camera Nikon F100 and a Kodak Portra 400 film. I am most inspired by names like Ernst Haas, Inge Morath, Dora Maar, Luigi Ghirri, and Man Ray for my work.

Croatia
I'm an internationally awarded and contemporary photographer based in Osijek, Croatia. After graduation from the Architectural-Geodetic School, I began experimenting with film and analog cameras, and I found myself in visual arts and turned my hobby into a business. After that, I launched my brand Marcijuš Studio. Analog photography made me discover my style and apply it to various photography types. A documentary and artistic approach is how I photograph personal projects, destination weddings, portraits, editorials, travels, and architecture. You could see my work in Rangefinder Magazine, C41 Magazine, Aint – Bad, Phroom, AD Magazine, Nowness, etc. ARTIST STATEMENT "I examine the relationship between people and space and their interaction through my photographs. I photograph the people in their minds, absent and sometimes lost in space. My goal is to show the beauty of everyday life and banality in the things you see every day in my unique aesthetic way. I always want to convey the moment's atmosphere and process, not just capture the moment. For this reason, I always introduce the observer to the space in which I find myself. The environment where I grew up left a dose of nostalgia and unknown sensibility in me, which I convey in my works. Showing something internal to the outside world brings my melancholy signature that you will find in all my captured spaces and people."
