"sentinels gather with waters slow waltzing the tide and skies reaching ever upwards" This is a Silver gelatin photograph from my series 'Great Ocean'. Inspired by the power, wonder and beauty of coastline unmarred and untamed by human intervention - a place to meet the wild and free spirit within self, where it is sometimes still possible to find solitude, oneness and stand in awe of the ever-changing intersection of ocean, sky and land. Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia. Dec 2023 Process: Original digitised image -> Paper negative -> darkroom --> Silver gelatin photograph. For this series of work I chose to convert the original image to a paper negative and then make a silver gelatin contact print in the darkroom because I really felt the resulting grainy texture gives voice to the ethereal and timeless quality I felt when I was in that landscape. Presented window-mounted with 8cm museum quality warm white mat border, signed and titled with the edition number below the photograph. Backed with archival foamcore ready for your framer to pop in a frame of your choice. I will include my personal framing recommendations in your parcel. Wrapped in mylar and shipped flat in a box.

"Photography as an alchemical journey of connection" An Australian fine art photographer, I work primarily with black and white film and occasionally a hybrid analog/digital process. What interests me is the way photography can reach into the depths of the 'soul' of something, allowing a pathway to connection to that which is both within us and greater than us. Whether that be portraiture or an exploration of windows or a collaborative work inspired by Nijinsky or the lyrebird, I am interested in the essence of things and the mystery within and beyond. Since 2005 I have exhibited in galleries in Australia and Berlin and currently have gallery representation in Berlin and Australia. My work is held in collections in Australia, the US, and Europe. Embracing monochrome and working with a range of small, medium and large format cameras, I handcraft gelatin silver prints in my darkroom and studio in Australia's Yarra Valley.
