The Girl - Polyptych in 11 parts - Limited Edition of 3 - (Part 1) Photograph

Please see "Part Two" to see the complete eleven images. This is Part One (images #1 to 6). Aesthetically, I consider some of my photographic and multimedia work as an extension or continuation of "de Chirico." A metaphysician's world inhabited by mannequins and presences. This edition is limited to three printings of the work, yet each print consists on eleven parts. Each of the parts shows quite a similar photography of The Girl, yet with differences, subtle and obvious, as a sort of static variations but pointing to a development (the changeable and unchangeable). The thought has come also that this version relates (somehow obliquely) to the Olmec heads, or to the "Silences" of Charles Ives' Unanswered Question. This limited edition is printed on canvas. Please note I am replacing a previous edition in color for this one in a somehow "black and white." The reason for this change was that I did not succeed (after many tries) to reproduce the refinement and presence of the original color print on Japanese paper. This present limited edition is printed on canvas, is slightly smaller than the previous one, and again, the colors are actually brownish grays; although they feel as a black and white print. Please note that the actual prints have a certain brownish quality, like dark sepia. The images printed are 13 7/8 x 11 5/8 size, yet they include a brownish margin surrounding the central image, which is intentionally uneven; not exactly squared, but always a bit irregular (up to 2/8 of an inch or irregularity), creating tension. The size of the inside image is about 12 1/8 x 10 5/8 (minus 2/8 unevenly). The canvas used for this limited edition is Canon, Graphic Matte Canvas 370 gsm, 17 mil. 0254V897. The photographs were made first with a Nikon D70s with a Carl Zeiss 50 mm. lens and transformed with a Canon Power Shot ELPH 300 HS. Please note that the price I am listing here is for all the eleven pieces as a set, yet the shipping may have to be in eleven packages, which I calculate in 2.5 pounds each. Ships in tubes.
