When I was five I killed a gnat. I asked the adults what was its name but they told me that flies don't have names. I didn't believe it, then I took a disposable camera and I started photographing all the adults I knew. Only their backs though. And when they asked who it was I said "I don't know, people I photograph have no name.""¨When I was 10 I realized I was further south than I suspected, so at 18 when I stole my father's reflex and I went around Italy to take photos, they asked me where I came from:"¨"Formia" - I replied."¨"Formia??""¨"You know Cairo? More to the North ""¨There is always a South on which someone can retaliate on. I never give up. When I'm in the corner, my brain starts to fly. Fantasy? It "˜s just the eros of reality. In my photo abstracts the subject recedes to leave space for the essence of photography, where light is the fundamental meaning of my works. Beginning with a deconstruction of classical photography, I focus on the device to capture the essence of the technique in one of its aspects and I show it using like means my intuitions. In the synthetic image the "being" is the algorithm that makes possible the appearance of the image, in the analog image the "being" is the film that will be impressed. In my opinion the meaning of photography is ontological in nature and not semiotic. I don't recognize the photography but the photo shoot. To show it in a state of not concealment allows to take all the aesthetic qualities that are inherent to it's essence. As in Tromeur, the photographic is not the setting in the eyes of the subject, but a way of appearing; in my abstracts the objects I photograph" lose their meaning and take another. Rather than existing in it's own free state, they are integrated into a new form. "(Sartre). And it is precisely the form that is the memory of the photograph, despite the memory of an instant. In the photograph entitled paradoxically Time, I show the essence of photographic memory that is intended not to remember Time but rather to keep a form within itself. It's an "exteriorized time"; it is "let go" as a thing among things. In Trap and Twilight, using both analog and digital devices, I make a "configuration of the representation" - quoting Moholy-Nagy - where the pure relations of color and light values are at play. My works are hybrids of various images' technologies. I do not have a style because the style is the product.
