Toscana series. Filmed in Italy in 2015. Printed in 2019. Lith-print. Paper " Slavich" Russia. Art photography is a type of black-and-white photo printing based on the use of a contagious "corrupted" developer. Unlike other alternative processes invented at the dawn of photography, litpechat appeared in the second half of the XX century. The technical LIT developers used for printing began to be used in the development of paper. The resulting images were very different from the results of classical black-and-white photo printing. Lit-print has an outstanding "graininess", a specific combination of light and shadow, the color of the print can not be similar to the classic black and white image and can vary depending on the photo paper and developer. Each photo is unique, it is impossible to repeat the image, saving all the printing parameters. Each of the options is different from the other.

My work is inspired by my love of pictorial photography. When shooting, I often use a soft-drawing lens (monocle). Photo printing is a search for opportunities to create a photo image that looks like a drawing, graphics... where there is light, air, contrast, color experiments. I am engaged in analog photo-processes - cyanotype, gum bichromate, lit-printing, printing on cotton paper with the application of photo emulsion. Each photo, taken in this technique, is unique. It is impossible to make two absolutely similar images.
