"Transformation 0001" "The Transformation Project offers an alternative reading of the role and place of the image and artistic language in the space of visual arts. The actuality of a photographic image implies our unconditional trust. But the picturesque of Viktor Senkov's works denies this actuality, based on the nature of the medium. The essence of the medium in this project is also overcome through repetition: the illusory reality becomes an illusion. This tautology causes a response loop - the achievable effect of perception is made possible by hinting at the source of the image. The image here balances between the abstract form and the special matter, the hints manifested in the forms and silhouettes. The composition has no clear center, the eye is in constant search. At the moment when the supposedly abstract, distorted image reveals its true nature as an identifiable fragment of reality, the spectator's gaze dissolves again in the space of the picturesque."
