Statement: There is a rhythm to life that no one can refute, i.e. the cycles of change. Some we like and some we would rather do without, but they are ALL necessary to maintain a balance of truth, self expression, intelligence through learning, and spiritual perspective. Description: Painting a lily with light. This work forms part of a diptych which means that you can either display one or both of the pieces next to each other. South Africa
I was born and raised in Vanderbijlpark, a small town in the Gauteng Provence of South Africa, in 1969. It's a heavily industrialised area where the sky is pale, grey, or brown. Not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, a friend suggested I further my education in photography. It was then that I found an outlet to the pressing need for expression, without the misunderstood external gesticulations that limit the souls' expression. The purpose behind my work is to share what I have learned, i.e. with every experience, the good and the bad, life loves, teaches, incubates, protects, nurtures, and sets us free to live and prosper if we so choose. At the age of 48, I left my hometown and moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where I currently reside, and the sky is always blue.
